Many businesses that invest in new equipment may be eligible to write-off up to 100% of the purchase cost on their 2017 returns.

Thanks to the guidelines under IRS Section 179 of the IRS tax code, many small businesses that invest in new equipment can write off up to $500,000 worth of these purchases on their 2017 IRS tax returns.

Normally, businesses spread these deductions over several years. The good news is that with Section 179 tax benefits provided under IRC Section 179, qualifying businesses may be eligible to write them off in the first year they are placed in service.

BUT DON'T FORGET:

 To qualify for the Section 179 tax deduction for the 2017 tax year, your Ford vehicle must be purchased or leased and placed into service by December 31, 2017. 

Additionally, It must be used at least 50% for business, based on mileage, in the first year it is placed in service. So if you choose to use it for both personal and business use, the cost eligible for deduction would be the percentage used for business.
